April 2008 - current
Worked fulltime for the Dutch Ministry of Defence, Directorate for Public Information and Communication, RNLN PR office from April 2008 until September 2008. Responsible for designing and implementing a programme aimed at attracting free publicity for the EUFOR Chad/CAR peacekeeping mission. Now working part-time at the Marines Training Command in Doorn as a naval reserve officer on active duty (lieutenant commander) providing specialist PR services.



Merger management: @Home, Casema and Multikabel

July 2007 through February 2008
Negotiations between the management of "Zesko" and the works councils of merger partners @Home, Casema and Multikabel got stuck. The trade unions were unable to enthuse their members for the Social Plan. As a strategic communications adviser Ewold de Bruijne acted as a key sparring partner for the board of directors. As of September he took the helm of the Corporate Communications department for an agreed period of six months to merge the legacy Corp Comms departments of the three companies and to supervise the internal introduction of the new brand name "Ziggo".



Preparing Organon BioSciences for its IPO

September 2006 through March 2007
As Organon BioSciences' Executive Director Ewold de Bruijne held responsibility for establishing a Corporate Communications Department from scratch for this new holding company of one of the world's most successful innovators in human and veterinarian medicine. Together with his team he prepared the company for its existence as an independent business and the planned Initial Public Offering of its shares.



Generating free publicity for Veenman

September 2005 through August 2006
Veenman, the Dutch market leader in document automation, hired Brightmen and Coolwords for strategic advice and practical support in solliciting editorial publicity as part of its intensified positioning and marketing activities.



Copywriting and handling press calls for Getronics

December 2005 through May 2006
Brightmen and Coolwords participated in writing the Getronics annual report 2005 and conducted several rounds of editing and correcting upon request of the company. While based at the offices of this IT services provider for several weeks, Ewold de Bruijne acted as a spokesperson on behalf of Getronics on several occassions.



Producing the annual report Blue Fox Enterprises

December 2005 through April 2006
Brightmen and Coolwords developed the synopsis for the content and the creative concept, wrote the copy, and managed the entire production process for the 2005 annual report of Blue Fox Enterprises.



Developing a marketing concept for CEXP Benelux

Spring 2006
Brightmen and Coolwords developed a concept to support contract stationer Corporate Express Benelux' marketing activities aimed at the health care industry, and produced content and lay-out proposals for a dedicated web site, corporate brochure and business partner profiles.
